At the Hanuman Ghat by the Ganges river, Shri Mahaprabhu Vallabhachrya stayed after he took sanyas, the highest order of renunciation. He live for one month on a stone completely silent without eating or drinking anything. There, Shri Mahaprabhuji wrote a work about true renunciation which cleared the doubts of many misled people who had taken an outer renunciation neglecting the true inner one. On the day of Rath Yatra, Shri Mahaprabhuji entered into the Ganges river up to his waist and while singing the glorious Gopi Gita, ascended to the divine abode in a stream of light before thousands of people. Everyone who considered him to be only a ordinary man, after seeing his divine departure realized his divinity.
